EMILIE: second capitalization meeting in Croatia

The second EMILIE capitalization meeting took place in Rijeka (Croatia) on the 22nd January 2014, with the intent of creating new synergies and sharing methodologies on innovation, energy efficiency in buildings, renewable energies and green policies.

The 4 projects invited by EMILIE for this Capitalization meeting focus on different energy efficiency aspects - from improving the EE in port-city areas (GREENBERTH); developing new methodology to conduct complete techno-economical studies for the refurbishment of public buildings and public spaces (REPUBLIC MED); developing new ICT concepts to reach energy savings in public buildings (SMARTBUILD) - to strengtening the capacities of the Mediterranean SMEs and improving the position of new products of small and medium-sized companies all along the supply chain of eco smart housing, especially for ageing generation (WIDER).

While the first part of the meeting was dedicated to project presentations, the second part was highly interactive and enabled the participants to discuss how innovative integrated building technology systems enhance energy efficiency in buildings, and to prepare a SWOT analysis on “Energy Efficiency Building potential market”.

This discussion lead to the identification of barriers that prevent the introduction of innovative solutions in the construction market and also to propose the solutions how to overcome these barriers (download here the Working Group results).
