EMILIE Project meetings in Ljubljana as push for the second half of the project lifetime

With the 3rd Steering Committee (SC) and Capitalization meetings, hosted by Institute Jožef Stefan on 10 and 11 June 2014 in Ljubljana, the EMILIE Project has diligently drawn into the second half of its lifetime.

A two days event in Ljubljana commenced with the SC meeting, at which all 6 project partners presented results of the work. The main stress was put on the presentation of pilot plants construction course as well as on future awareness raising, workshops and capitalisation activities. The majority of pilot plants will be put into operation before the end of June and the first sets of seasonal aggregated results are expected to be published by September.

On the next day, almost 30 invited experts took part in the Capitalization meeting, highlighting various aspects of funding opportunities for innovation and facilitation of financing for SMEs in the field of energy efficiency in buildings. The following international projects (and topics) were presented: MARIE (www.marie-medstrategic.eu: ESCO model implemented in the pilot projects in Brda region, Slovenia), ELIH-MED (www.elih-med.eu: guideline on innovative financing), TRANSPARENSE (www.transparense.eu; EPC), ECOFUNDING (www.med-ecofunding.eu; facilitation of financing for SMEs in the field of EE, clean energies and green businesses), GO-ECO (go-eco.info; integrated energy concepts in SMEs), ODYSSEE MURE 2012 (www.odyssee-mure.eu; database of funding opportunities) and the lesson learnt by the Province of Chieti (Italy) regarding EIB and ELENA funding opportunities. Interesting presentations were followed by the workshop in which participants discussed challenges regarding implementation of ELENA funds and how to maximize the benefits of ESCOs and EPCs.
