Arbois Mediterranean Environment Technology Park of Aix-en-Provence

Based in the area of Aix-en-Provence, the Arbois-Mediterranean Environment Technology Park is an economic development and planning project focused on innovative business creations in the environment sector.

More specifically, companies, research and training centres and innovation assistance bodies based in the technology park work in the following skills areas:

• Environmental monitoring, health and risk management
• Energy and eco-construction
• Water and waste management

 The technology park provides 1400 jobs (400 of which are research jobs), on top of which 300 students (postgraduate) work in the:

• 110 innovative companies (SP3H, Hélion, Génésis, Nhéolis, Safe technologies),
• 11 research laboratories (CEREGE, Collège de France, INRA, INERIS, FRB…), and the Terrestrial Environment Sciences Masters (University of Aix Marseille),
• engineering schools, the Doctoral School of Environmental Sciences,
• 1 incubator for innovative businesses (Provence BIC),
• 9 competitiveness clusters (Risques, Pégase, Capénergies, Trimatec, BDM, éa éco-entreprises, Eau, Novachim, Artémis).
• Technology platforms (risk management, processes, waste0,
• 2 Equipexes (Nano ID, Aster-CEREGE)
• 3 labexes (highly reputed laboratories) (Sénénade, OT-Med, DRIIHM).

The concentration of all these organisations has turned the Arbois-Mediterranean Environment Technology Park into the Terrestrial Environment Sciences thematic campus for the University of Aix Marseille

With ISO 14001 certification the Arbois-Mediterranean Environment Technology Park can offer premises to suit the growth and development of companies from incubation stage to small unit production.

The Technology Park has 3 Concerted Development Areas (ZACs):

• Petit Arbois: concentration of innovative companies, research laboratories and innovation assistance bodies
• Tourillon: high-end service and production
• TGV station: high-end service sector

The Technology Park offers numerous services for companies and research bodies, both to facilitate everyday running and event organisation.

The Forum

The Arbois-Mediterranean Environment Technology Park can provide a range of on-site services which greatly improve the quality of work and well-being of those working there.

Located at the centre of the technology park and managed by the Arbois Joint Commission (Syndicat Mixte), the Forum is given over to event organisation and the promotion of the Technology Park partners and stakeholders. With a conference room, a videoconferencing meeting room, an auditorium, a meeting room on two floors, it has the facilities required for all events, meetings, seminars, training courses and so on.

In keeping with its ISO 14001 certification and with the aim of improving risk management, in particular the issue of forest fires, the Arbois-Mediterranean Environment Technology Park has set up a warning system to provide prompt information and details of procedures to follow to as many people as possible in Petit Arbois.
