French National Research Agency (ANR)

The National Research Agency, created in 2005, aims at boosting the research through a projects selection scheme.

ANR supports collaborative research through calls for proposals on the one hand and contractual research which links together public laboratories and companies on the other hand.

In 2010, the ANR has been appointed by the General Commission for Investments the managing body of calls for proposals in the framework of Investments for the Future regarding Excellence centres, health, biotechnologies and research valorisation.

 In 2012, more than 10.000 projects had already been funded.

 Valorisation events are jointly organized by the ANR and competitiveness clusters for purpose of results uptake by the commercial world.
