Friulia S.p.A. is the regional holding company of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and was established in 1967 by the Regional Government. Its mission is promoting the region’s economic development as part of a programming policy. Friulia is a consultant that assesses companies’ industrial plans and development models and identifies the best financing opportunities driving development and innovation and fostering investments in companies’ growth. Friulia S.p.A is a financial partner for companies (not only based in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region) by supporting them according to market and business requirements. On these basis in 2006 it was established Friulia Holding, anorganisational and operating structure that includes the followings: Friulia, Banca Mediocredito del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Finest, Friulia SGR and Bic Incubatori, Autovie Venete S.p.A and Interporto di Cervignano del Friuli S.p.A.

FRIULIA Spa implements investment methods that may be applied to the different stages of a company life, including start-up activities, equity for development, projects to support change of generations, support to internationalisation projects and projects for the aggregation of more companies. Not only local businesses, but also industries headquartered outside the region can rely on Friulia’s professional expertise and resources to finance projects to develop their business, creating and bolstering production sites within the region.

Friulia SGR S.p.A. is an asset management firm controlled by the regional holding company Friulia S.p.A to meet the growing demand for new types of financial instruments aimed at supporting innovation and seizing market opportunities in specific areas of investment.

AlAdInn Ventures is the venture capital fund managed by Friulia S.G.R. focused on innovative companies with high-growth potential. Particular attention is paid to enterprises working in

high technology sectors such as internet & software, telecom& mobile, nanotechnology, biotechnology, energy, automotive, health care and clean technology. The Fund primarily operates by acquiring qualified minority stakes in unlisted companies active in the Alpe Adria Euroregion (i.e. the Italian North-Eastern Regions of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Austrian Southern Region of Carinthia and Slovenia), in start-up or growth stage.

BIC Incubatori FVG is part of the Friulia Group and is a “Center for Business Innovation” and a certified member of EBN -European Business & Innovation Centre Network.

BIC Incubatori FVG S.p.A. is located in the industrial zone of Trieste and houses more than 50 equipped premises - laboratories. BIC Incubatori FVG accompanies and supports new entrepreneurial initiatives by:

• identifying and valorising innovative projects, in particular in the energy, ICT and life science sectors;

• promoting the establishment of industrial start-ups with high growth potential;

• hosting new initiatives and joint-ventures promoted by venture capitalists and small existing companies wishing to diversify their business;

• providing equipped premises - laboratories;

• assisting in drawing financial plans to be submitted to the banking system with the goal of increasing the company growth;

• carrying out functional tutoring and managerial coaching;

• identifying specific financial solutions during the various development phases of the incubated companies;
