EMILIE’s October in Spain
October was busy for our Spanish partners when it comes to EMILIE events.
In the beginning of the month, Instituto Andaluz de Tecnologia (IAT) participated at the “GreenCities & Sustainability“, an international forum focusing on smart solutions to urban sustainability, that took place in Málaga on 2nd & 3rd October. Programme of this interesting event was built arount three main themes connected with turning a city into a Greencity: Building, Energy Efficiency and Smart Cities. Contributing to the topics covered, everyone interested in EMILIE activities was able to approach IAT's stand and get first-hand information about EMILIE's activities.
On the 15 October 2014, EMILIE partners gathered in Zaragoza, for the 2nd Technical Group meeting, hosted by CIRCE - Research Centre for Energy Resources and Consumption, to discuss the ongoing technical issues connected with pilot’s realization and to pay a visit to Glassolating pilot plant. Furthermore, the Phase Change Materials technology was discussed and analysed, and some other innovative technologies to be applied to buildings with the objective of reaching the zero emissions status (specifically to tertiary buildings), were presented and debated.
Finally, the host partner, CIRCE, presented the GLASSOLATING pilot plant installed at the Río Ebro University campus in Zaragoza, stressing that good energy savings have already been achieved in both “testing” lab (about 27%), and the “real conditions” lab (about the 13%).
